Who I Am.

I’ve been a celebrity makeup artist for over 14 years (working out of Los Angeles), and several years ago I decided to create a first-of-its-kind website called The Pretty Fix to teach trans-feminine folks makeup. I am also the makeup instructor at LA’s LGBT+ center, and have another fun project in the works to help people learn everyday makeup as well.

Tell us in your own words why you do what you do, keep this positive and relevant including the passion and vision you had to live this new life you have created for yourself.

I focus on teaching adult transgender women and nonbinary folks makeup because they are completely being left behind by the beauty industry! I want to make sure EVERYONE has the resources they need to look and feel their best, and has a safe space to have their concerns addressed. I absolutely love working with the trans community and hope to encourage as many beauty brands as possible to be more inclusive.

What was it that prompted the change in your journey?

I began volunteering at the LA LGBT+ center so I could share my pro knowledge as a makeup artist with more people. Once I started teaching classes for trans folks, I knew this was a path I needed to take. Everyone was so eager to learn, so grateful for my help, and so lacking in other resources to use. I was fully embraced by the community (even though I myself am cisgender), and I have been doing my best to honor their needs ever since.

Is a life goal important to you and how would you define this?

I have many goals career-wise, but in terms of a life goal it is to bring as much brightness, compassion, & kindness as possible into the world. Being a human is hard and we all need more love!

Why is it important to follow your dream and what have you share from this?

Following my dreams has been important because it allows me to make a bigger impact than I would working for someone else, or keeping my skills to myself. I think we all have so much within us that can help others, so I am continually inspired to keep going!

Where do you go from here, what does the future hold?

From here, I am actually developing something that will makeup learning everyday, easy makeup more accessible for all people! I don’t want to give too much away, but it may or may not involve an app
